Easy Horse Betting System

By: Richard Bleuze

Because horse handicappers are human, it is foolishness to follow any one of them with 100%.

Instead, the more sensible thing is to take the advice of a number of horse handicappers and develop a system whereby you only back horses which are heavily favorited by the cappers.

This will obviously mean that the odds available on such selections are quite short, but to the horse bettor, that should not matter.

One method of collating the selections of horse handicappers and using this information to provide a good flow of winners is to use a simple plan as described below.

The Plan works like this:

1) I recommend using a minimum of fifteen horse handicappers for this plan.  You can include newspaper cappers, telephone cappers or any other source you happen to have access to on a regular basis.  Once you have decided which horse handicappers to use, do the following:

Make a simple 3 column form and label them as follows:

Column 1 Capper
Column 2 Racetrack
Column 3 Top Pick
Column 4 Second Best Pick

2) Once you have done this, locate the horse which appears most often as the top pick in the "Top Pick" column.  This is your selection of the day, and should be entered in the "FINAL SELECTIONS" part of the collation sheet.

If there are two or more horses which have been tipped by equal numbers of people, separate as follows:

A.  Give preference to a horse which has won over the same distance as today's race.

B.  If still a tie, give preference to a horse which has won over the same course as today's race.

C.  If still a tie, give preference to a horse which has won over the same going as today's race.

D.  If still a tie, give preference to a horse which is ridden by the top jockey according to course statistics.

E.  If still a tie, give preference to a horse which is trained by the top trainer according to course statistics.

F.  If there is still a tie then there is no selection today.

3) Now do extra the same for the third column.  Locate the horse which appears most often under the NEXT BEST heading and this is your next best selection of the day and should be entered in the "FINAL SELECTIONS" part of the collation sheet in the NEXT BEST column.  If there are two or more horses which have been tipped by equal numbers of people, separate using the same tie-breaker rules:

E.  If still a tie, give preference to a horse which is trained
by the top trainer according to course statistics.

F.  If there is still a tie then there is no next best selection today.

Once you have your final TOP PICK and NEXT BEST selections, you place your bet.

Now if you want to really make money, buy an extra ticket with the picks and add a longshot for your third pick.  I suggest that you box the ticket.

Like all plans, before you invest money, paper trade it for a while and decide for yourself if it is something you would like to use on a regular basis.

 A FEW TIPS TO CONSIDER

1.  Some of the best horse racing results can be had during the week when the fields are typically smaller and it takes little time to place some wagers.
2.  Learn about the horses as well as the jockeys. In horse racing both are of major importance when it comes to crossing the finish line.
3.  When you place your bet, what others say or the hype surrounding a team should not be what sways you. Check into where the team came from, how long they have been racing and even what class they moved up from and when.
4.  Research the track.  The track itself can change the way a race goes. There are different textures, different temperatures and even different lengths.
5.  When it comes to horse racing one of the most valuable tips you can follow is to learn more about the sport.  Know the participants and the location.  Use this information to put together your best bet for the next race.
