Make Your Own Horse Betting System

Free Horse Betting Systems - Just make your own free horse racing systems.

Making your own horse racing systems is not that hard. All you have to do is look out for situations in which the general public will not bet a horse for some reason.

Situations like this usually arise when something happens which goes against the grain of traditional bookmakers.  For years bookmakers have always bet on horses because of form in some way.  If you can find a method which is not based on form in some way, or looks to be the opposite of form then you could have a winning system.

For example, on the all weather situation there is a distinct gender bias which prevents fillies and mares winning as often as they should.  Form bookmakers will not know about this and will not distinguish between a colt, gelding, filly or mare.  It is therefore possible to create systems based on gender on the all weather and gain an edge over the masses who rely on horse racing form.

Another example is with horses who are quick returning.  This is where a horse returns to the racetrack within a short period of time such as within a few days or even running the next day.

Most form bookmakers will not put much significance on that run especially if the race looked hard on the horse.  In some cases where a horse is running in two days in succession bookmakers may not even be aware of the run!  With 48 hour declarations some newspapers and other form resources would not know about a horse  who ran just 24 hours ago.

In this instance it is possible to exploit the lack of understand of importance of a recent run.  Form bookmakers may not realize that some horses thrive on racing quickly even if they ran poorly the day before.

Systems Portfolio
When following systems you should never rely on just one or two systems.  Treat horse racing systems as if you were trading on the stock market: keep a portfolio.

No sensible stock market investor would just buy shares in one company, and no sensible system follower should just rely on one system.

If you just follow one system you are leaving yourself open to bad losing streaks which can deplete your bank and dent your confidence in a system.

It is much better to run many systems all at the same time.  Doing so will level out any fluctuations in performance.  Just as a share price can go up and down, a systems performance can go up and down too.  If you run various systems throughout the year, you should be able to keep on making profits.

FREE HORSE RACING SYSTEMS (Turf)

System #1 - Favorites at next meeting
Description When the favorite fails to win at a meeting, follow the favorite at the next corresponding meeting.  Overall, favorites win about 32% of the time so you would expect a favorite to win about 2 races on a 6 race card.  If the favorite fails to win any race at a meeting, wait for the next scheduled meeting at that course and follow the favorite until it wins.

System #2 - 2nd Favorites at grade 1 race tracks
Back all 2nd favorites in selling and claiming races at grade 1 race tracks.  This system works because bettors have a tendency to overbet the favorite and sometimes create a false favorite.  Thus, the second favorite is underbet and pushed into profitability.

System #3 - Beaten Favorites
Back beaten favorites in novice races.  Horse must be fancied and not up in class.   Why does it work?  All beaten favorites are generally underbet by the public.

System #4 - Next Day Runners
Back horses who ran yesterday and are the favorite in today's race. This system seems to work because bookies are seriously underbetting this kind of horse.  All next day runners do not make a profit.  But those who are favorite win as often as a regular favorite but have the added advantage of being fit and strongly fancied by connections.  The odds available for them is higher than it should be, thus a value bet can be had.

FREE HORSE RACING SYSTEMS (All Weather)

System #5 - Free Horse Racing Systems
Back colts and geldings who last ran within 3 days.   Must have won within the past 4 weeks.  Why does it work?  a) Because males hold a tremendous edge over females, b) turning out quickly on the sand is a huge positive, c) by insisting the horse has won within 4 weeks shows he has winning ability.

System #6 - Quick Return Stakes
Stakes races (not maiden), horse last ran within 3 days, 10 runners or less, favrite.   This system works for similar reasons to the handicap version - it is relying on quick returners.  You could filter for males, but most of the qualifiers are males anyway.

System #7 - Favorite Colts
Back Colts who won within 7 days and are the favorite.  Why does it work?   Because bookies seriously underestimate a) the importance of a recent win, b) colts on the all weather.

Please keep this in mind, bookmakers back favorites because they are perceived to have the best chance of winning in the race.  If you back all favorites in every race you would make a loss of about 7%.  In other words for every $1 you spent backing favorites you would have .93 returned. Clearly this is not a profitable system!

 A FEW TIPS TO CONSIDER

1.  Some of the best horse racing results can be had during the week when the fields are typically smaller and it takes little time to place some wagers.
2.  Learn about the horses as well as the jockeys. In horse racing both are of major importance when it comes to crossing the finish line.
3.  When you place your bet, what others say or the hype surrounding a team should not be what sways you. Check into where the team came from, how long they have been racing and even what class they moved up from and when.
4.  Research the track.  The track itself can change the way a race goes. There are different textures, different temperatures and even different lengths.
5.  When it comes to horse racing one of the most valuable tips you can follow is to learn more about the sport.  Know the participants and the location.  Use this information to put together your best bet for the next race.
